His extensive expertise in the money transfer, insurance brokerage, FX and consumer credit sectors positions him as a key player in driving growth and development within the region.
Before joining Oakland Partners, David held prominent leadership roles across various financial and fintech organisations. He served as CFO at Western Union, where he led financial operations in Europe and Japan, and later as CEO at Lycamoney Limited, where he drove strategic initiatives to expand the company’s footprint in the financial services industry.
David is also an accomplished entrepreneur, having co-founded multiple ventures including WeeDoo Market, and Epayerz. These ventures reflect his innovative approach to the market, focusing on building and managing B2B Marketplaces in verticals such as agriculture.. His ability to create value and foster growth in niche markets highlights his strategic vision and business acumen.
Throughout his career, David has held senior roles at notable companies such as Moni, Paymenta, where he leveraged his skills in financial management, strategic planning, and operational leadership. His experience as a Non-Executive Director at Afrimarket and as Finance Director at La Chose Group and EATON demonstrates his broad expertise across multiple industries and his capability to navigate diverse financial challenges.
David’s background is further enriched by his academic credentials, including an EMBA from HEC Paris and specialised training in entrepreneurship and innovation from Babson College Boston.
